Hey all!

I have a problem with Adobe After Effects CS6. I tried to import different files (jpg,psd,gif,mpg4..etc), but nothing works. I always have that black preview screen. It seems like the preview window has a layer on top of the picture, it does read colors when the cursor is moving and the picture appears when im narrowing the program size. I just downloaded the program and never got further. What am i missing here, any suggestions are appreciated!

1. When narrowed, picutre appears.

I can't see anything wrong from the uploads you've provided. I'm thinking it's probably related to your GPU. Let us know what your GPU specs.

Thanks Roland! I have Dell Studio 1555, Intel Core2 Duo 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4570 and a Vista - It's making sense now. Sony Vegas Pro is somehow working and I tought this would too, but I was clearly wrong... Would Win 7 or CS5 help me?

Hi Paul, CS6 provides huge productivity improvements over previous versions with its Global Performance Cache and Persistent Cache features.

Here are the system requirements for CS6 -
http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects/tech-specs.html

It looks like Vista is your main issue. You GPU will support non-ray-tracing features, which is where it falls short but most folks get by without hardware accelerated ray-tracing either by avoiding it or rendering ray-tracing features using the CPU.

More info on AE CS6 (aka version 11.0.2)

If you have more hardware related Qs, I suggest that you do so at the official Adobe AE Forum cos it's more frequent that Adobe employees answer Qs there than over here.
