I have a little problem with a project of a 30 sec spot with many layers.

All is great and it renders fine till it hits a certain layer and it will stop rendering and say:

After Effects error:Warning:Frame Size Input Error, Layer size must be the same, time for precomp maybe? (512)

If I skip to to a frame after the layer it renders fine again. It also does it when I am not rendering and when I just scroll to the peticulair layer.

Any suggestions are welcome as we are really stuck with this.

Sorry, but that isn't much information to help us help you.

What kind of footage is the problem layer? Have you confirmed that the footage isn't corrupted?

If it's video footage, what is the media container and codec? Have you used such video before? What version of AE do you run?

Thank you for the reply.

We use AE CS 5

Footage is Red Raw with rpf (3d max) graphics on top. The thing is the whole project is the same kind of footage and 3d renders (rpf).

It only gives the error at the frame when it hits this layer. We used the same workflow and effects on all layers (precomps etc.

The footage is not corrupt because if I remember correctly when we go into the precomp it seems fine.
