About finished with a music video and wanted to see if I could get some clarification on an issue we've been having. So, we shot the video on a 7D and because the lighting was bad, we have a compression wave that's hitting the wall in some of the shots. Our solution was to mask/key frame it out. Which has taken care of about 98%ish of the problem. But if you really look, you can still see a hint of the wave. My question is, if we add a film grain to all the shots (along with that 98% fix), then when we export the video out, will the compression waves be reduced further because we're going from a prores file to H264 or will the compression waves be amplified? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just want to get some opinions on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
