Hi, I have a very dense AE project that I've been rendering bits and pieces of. The sequence is 30fps at 1920 x 1080 (eventually it'll have to be 1080p, but for now I only need 720p).

During the loooooong render times I could've sworn that it was rendering faster at full 1080p than when I used the resizing options in the queue to change it to 720p.

Am I just going crazy here or does resizing down actually add to the render time? Is AE is rendering it 1080p then scaling it down? Or just rendering at 720p in the first place like if I were to render at half, third or quarter resolution?

Thanks!

Resizing on output is an extra computational step.
