Setting Interpretation Rules in CS6 to progressive interpretation
on Sep 13, 2012 at 1:20:00 pm

Hello everybody!

As we are mainly working with progressive footage, I would like to modify the interpretation rules to set the field order to "Frame" on all imported footage.

With the default interpretation rules located in the user preferences folder, AE guesses the field order - sometimes right, sometimes wrong.

I made a backup of the original interpretation rules file and deleted every rule from the file to narrow possible mistakes.

When I first set a rule to "1920, 1080, *, *, * = *, U, *, *, *, *" all imported Full HD Footage is interpreted with upper field first.
When I then set the rule to "1920, 1080, *, *, * = *, L, *, *, *, *" all imported Full HD Footage is interpreted with lower field first.
When I then set the rule to "1920, 1080, *, *, * = *, F, *, *, *, *" AE guesses the field order - sometimes right, sometimes wrong.
When I then set the rule to "1920, 1080, *, *, * = *, *, *, *, *, *" AE guesses the field order - sometimes right, sometimes wrong.

The "F"-Command for Frame-Interpretation does not seem to work.
Does anybody have an idea how to make this work?

Thanks in advance ...
