I'm currently trying to put some nice DOF into a 3dsmax render. I loaded the render (EXR) with a seperat ZPass into After Effects, put it into 32 bits and as soon as I apply either After Effects' own Lens Blur effect or Frischluft's Lencare, I get this weird glitch:
It changes slightly, once I assign the ZDepth-layer, but largely remains the same. This glitch doesn't occur when I apply the effect in 16 bits or 8 bits, but sadly the lens blur effects don't work properly in these modes when handling EXR files. I tried both CS6 and CS5.5, same result. My working space color management is set to "off". I tried both sRGB, Adobe RGB and Apple RGB with "Lineralize working space" on and off, but it only made the glitch go white or produce an error message. By the way, my EXR-sequence is set to "Preserve RGB", which also doesn't have any effect on the glitch.
I googled for hours but couldn't find anyone experiencing similar problems. Any suggestions?
