Collapse Transformation Problem
on Jun 14, 2012 at 4:47:00 am

So I designed a complex animation with a 3D camera and illustrator files at 1280x720. Now I nested this main comp in a larger flavor HD comp, namely 1920x1080. Next I scale the nested comp to 150% to the larger HD size. Now I want to collapse transformation in order to retain the original information from the illustrator files which can be scaled, but the collapse transformations messes up my 3D camera as well. How can I scale up this comp without losing qualify (by pointing to the original files) and yet not have to reanimate the entire scene?

Thanks!

Instead of nesting your comp and re-sizing, use the Scale Composition script that comes with AE. It's under Files>Scripts>Scale composition.

As I'm doing it now, I found a bug… one thing that doesn't change is the "focus distance" on the camera. That has to be adjusted. But it's still a huge time saver.
