Key frames are acting up

I've just converted to AE from Motion. Wow what a refreshing change. I have loved my first week with AE. I ran into a little issue today though. When I make a linear key frame I sometimes get an unwanted 'dip in the graph' if that makes sense. Meaning sometimes AE puts in extra motion into my animation which translates into a sharp point in the graph that actually has no key frame. I've attached a screen shot of what I am talking about. Let me know if this behavior can be avoided.

It seems to be pretty normal once you get used to AE.
And a week is NOTHING compared to other people.
I would imagine you have Bezier interpolation set between two identical position keyframes; that's all I can deduce from your screen shots. The fix: turn the keyframe before the weirdness into a Hold Keyframe. Things should be okay.

I would also suggest that you go to Preferences>General and click the checkbox that says "Default Spatial Interpolation to Linear". That way you can add and control bezier curves manually in the composition window or graph editor.
