Hi, I have created an animation of butterflies flying in 3d space for an augmented reality project. in order to give a sense of depth they cast shadows from a light set just behind the camera down on to a white solid. However I need the background to be an alpha channel, so is there a way of getting the shadows to cast on one rather than a solid?

So you need to knock out white, but you can't use a blending mode?

Go get Red Giant Software's free Unmult effect [link], then sandwich it in between two Invert effects.
