Hi folks,
I currently have Adobe CS4 and love it. I've read about how all the newer computers operate as 64-bit, and am wondering: If/when my current computer "bites the bullet", does that mean that my 32-bit programs will be obsolete? Or, can I purchase a newer, 64-bit computer and still install/use my 32-bit programs?
Thanks so much for your help!
Vic

They'll do just fine. They'll be installed into the Program Files (x86) folder - for PCs. I'm not sure where they are installed on the Mac.

You sure can. Don't forget to deactivate Creative Suite on the old computer if you're getting rid of it.

A 64-bit OS actually offers benefits to 32-bit AE CS4: since a 64-bit OS can address more RAM, you can more effectively use multiprocessing.

Thanks so much for your help! I actually just had a new motherboard installed in my MacBook Pro, so I hopefully won't be purchasing a new computer any time soon. However, when the old motherboard crashed, it made me wonder about the 32/64-bit question. You've put my mind at ease (since the programs are rather pricey!)
Thanks again!
