Remove Shadow and Light from CC Sphere, or create non-lit 3D sphere?

Hello,

I am looking to make a 3D map, so was going to use it on a sphere, like a globe. However the shadow that CC Sphere adds to it is pretty severe and I didn't want a shadow at all.
How best to apply a flat map to a 3D object, to enable quick and smooth jumping animations from country to country?
Thanks!! :)

If you open the shading slider and turn the ambient to 100 and the diffuse to 0, you will remove most of the shading and be pretty close to the default colors of you original map.
