I just bought a second hand Nvidea Quadro 4000 without installation cd.
I installed in a windows 7 64 bit pc with 16 Gb of Ram.

I downloaded graphics driver 296.70 and installed it.

Everything works great!

However. I would like to take some advice from a user experienced with this card, especially in combination with After Effects.

1. Did I install every driver I need, or is there additional useful software I need to get the highest performance.

2. What are the best settings in Nvidea setup.

3. What are the best settings in AE

Thanks

If you run AE 11 (aka CS6), you can look at Todd Kopriva's posts below for information.

If you DO NOT run AE 11, the Nvidia won't improve AE performance. Sorry. Fast processors, lots of cores and lots of RAM are what AE craves. The card itself is irrelevant.

I hope you didn't get this card especially for AE. I hope it's just the thing for other applications you run. This is the kind of purchase that warrants research and question-asking before you write the check.

...and here's a thread discussing the precise nature of GPU acceleration in AE 11. Be sure to click on the link:
