I think i've already decided it's a no brainer to upgrade to CS6. Currently using CS4.

I did try the upgrade to CS5.5, but to be honest, the speed difference really wasn't that much.

I'm using a iMac, 20GB RAM, i7, 3.4GHz - so not exactly a slow machine.

What I wonder is, how much quicker will CS6 be over CS4?

A lot hopefully!

The most exciting new feature I see in CS6 is the global performance cache. It stores intermediate renders on disk and provides a big speed boost while tweaking parameters in complicated comps.

See Todd Kopriva's global performance cache demo [link] for more -- or see his whole series on the new features in CS6 [link].
