Hi,

Guess Im missing something here, but what is the deal with the "clone source overlay" in After Effects? It seems like a crazy way of handling the tool. Is it a possibility to arrange it the way it works in photoshop? Like having the clone stamp target visible in the circled area and not like a opacity full frame mode?

Is it something else missing in the "tool palette" for removing items and stuff in After Effects compared to photoshop?
I would really like to do all the easy painting and removal stuff in AE.

Stig

I'm not aware of a way to do that.

I actually rather like the AE approach, but it does take a bit of getting used to if you're accustomed to Photoshop's clone tool. I like that I can beyond the brush before I make the stroke, so I can avoid making strokes I'll want to undo immediately.

That said...

I find the easy paint stuff is even easier in Ps with the Content-Aware Fill.

Thank you Walter, I love the content aware Fill too. Too bad After Effects does not provide tools like this.
You have any "secret" supertips up your sleeve? :)

you see... my biggest problem is painting back edges or make edges that doesnt exist.
Lets say a green garden with a hvite fence. In front of the fence a guy is standing (hiding the edge of the fence.

What is the best technique to back the edge of this fence? In photoshop.

Can you copy part of the fence from another part of the frame and transform it to fit where the missing section would be?
