 | Question about illustrator files within after effects

Hey,
So I am animating a cartoon in After Effects made up of vector images imported from Illustrator. One of these vector images is a group of small one dollar bills. I'd like to add more detail to the bills without having to go through the process of importing a new image of bills and re-animating it. If I change the Illustrator file and save the new version will the bills change within After Effects as well or would I have to re-import the edited file?

The updated file should automatically update in AE.
