My current setup is

I7 2600k @4.4GHz
MSI 570 PE/OC
KINGSTONE DDR3 1333 4G*2 = 8G
Seasonic X-560W
WINDOWS 7 x64

I started using AE last year with my old pc, which was E8400 + 3.50G RAM(win xp 32bit). Rendering (using CS4 I believe,) a clip of 10 secs with lots of particles in it was fine, though very slowly. However, with my new setup (using CS5 now), I tried Video Copilot's Crumble tutorial, which was like 5 secs, and it took up all my 8G of ram, causing rendering to halt. I tried with Pre-render and Make Movie, both resulting in the same way....

Really confused now.. hope you guys can shed some light on that =)

THX.

What are your settings in the Memory & Multiprocessing preferences? A screenshot of the preferences dialog box with those setting shown would be useful.

Also, tell us more about the composition that is causing the problem and what your export settings are.

Ideally, provide answers to the questions listed here.
