Hey everyone!

So I am working with an Asus computer

The specs include:

AMD Phenom II X6 2.7GHz, 8GB DDR3, 1TB SATA3, 1GB ATI 5450, HDMI, Win 7HP64.

My CPU got a broken Pin, so I had to replace the whole CPU and just got my computer up and running again today.

While I was without my desktop I had to use my laptop for this motion graphics piece I am working on. My laptop is not very has 4 gb ram DDR3 and is a quad core.

Regardless when I had to do a render out of After Effects for a 1080 HD quicktime video it only took me like half a day.

Well now I am trying to do the same render with my desktop and it is going to take me even more time!

When it begins rendering it tells me that it is only using about 20% of my 7.7 GBs of Ram.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Also I am using CS 5.5

Thank you!

It's tough to give you a straight answer: we don't know how you have processors & RAM allocated. Here are some pretty good guidelines to follow:

8 gigs may seem like a boatload of memory, but it really isn't for AE purposes, especially when multiprocessing is involved.

And as always, stay away from using Open GL to accelerate rendering. Adobe employees don't use it, and you're smart to follow their lead.
