Hi,

We're creating an animation for a customer that they may want shown on a big screen (half size cinema screen). I was planning on creating a comp 1920x1080.

Will this be high enough quality do you think?

Is this the best method of going about it?

Kind regards,

I've created 1920x1080 for theatres and it looked fine.

That being said, call the client and ask who/where this is going to be delivered to and if he can get the exact specs required. That's your best and easiest option that will save you the most headaches down the road.

As John says, getting exact specifications from the client is a good idea. Rather than asking about the screen, be sure to ask about what the projection system uses/requires.

Thank you!

So what other questions do I need to ask / consider apart from resolution?

And what impact (what settings do I need to adjust) in light of their feedback?

There's a great article here on the COW about this:
http://library.creativecow.net/articles/rabinowitz_aharon/delivery.php

Here is an article in After Effects Help about how to plan your project with client specifications in mind.

You'll be making changes in composition settings and output module settings for most of these specifications---and maybe project settings if you decide to use color management to ensure that you're delivering movies in the right color space.
