3D move on map with Shallow depth of field

Hey Gurus,

I was lucky enough to get an opening title sequence on a period film set in the 17th century. I have a QT sample of what I'm looking to accomplish but I don't see a place to attach anything. The endeavor is to have it look like we shot it:
A textured sepia map at an angle that we move on. The focus and light falls off on the edges of the frame. Lit like it was in a flickering candle light. Thanks so much!!

Thanks so much for all the great help!

Michael

You have a bunch of icons on top of the post window- the one like a small film camera is what you're looking for.
It is hard to give advice on something like this without seeing a sketch or image.

No e-mail, but you do have three options for upload- one for still images, another for video and a third for files (like project files. Use those to upload your file to the Cow- you'll get a link. Then you can paste that in a post in this forum.

Do you remember what I was asking about?

Thanks!

Ted, OK, I think I have the attachment thing figured out now. Refresher:
I'm looking to create an animation of a textured sepia map at an angle that we move on. The focus and light falls off on the edges of the frame. Lit like it was in a flickering candle light. Thanks so much!!
See attached movie :)

Ok- I see the still, no movie though, but good enough to get an idea.
If I understand correctly you would like to move the camera over the map and give the impression that the map is lit by candle light.
I would link a Spot Light to a Camera Rig (http://maltaannon.com/articles/after-effects/simple-camera-rig/). In front of my spotlight I would position (and link to it) a layer that has an alpha generated by fractal noise (combine 2 balck solids in a precomp- one with just a feathered circular mask that pokes a whole in the middle on top of the second that has Fractal noise applied to it; apply set matte (under Channel) to this precomp and choose luminance and itself as source and precomp again- make that 3d and position). Play with Fractal noise settings. This should cast a shimmering light on the map.

Ted, that sounds like just what the Doctor ordered. Thanks so much! I hope I can get thru all that alone. Can I lean on you for a bit help along the way if needed?

Thanks again!
