Hi,

I am having problems getting my adverts to run on video screens. I've contacted the manufacturer of the screens and they have said I am using the wrong settings.

They have said my files are
AVC
Main@L5.1

and they should be
Mpeg-4 visual
simple @L5 or advanced Simple@L5

Does anyone understand those settings? I'm rendering each project as H.265 mpeg4

I'm really confused!
Laura

I assume that you meant H.264? That won't work if they require MPEG4 Visual.

Instead of choosing H.264 as the format in AE or AME, you should choose MPEG4. From there, you will have the option to multiplex as MP4, and encode video with the Advanced Simple profile at Level 5.

I think ASP only supports standard-definition video and tops out at a data rate of 8 Mb/s. I'd ask the signage vendor if they prefer CBR or VBR, and what the maximum bit rate they recommend is.

Audio must be AAC, so there aren't too many options to worry about there.

Thanks for the rely. Yes I did mean H.264.

I have tried selecting MPEG4 instead of H.264 in AE but I get a warning about the size of my video. Resolution is 1920 x 1080 but with the MPEG4 selection I can't render it any bigger than 720 x 480.

Any suggestions?

As I said, I think this is limited to standard def.

You can download MPEG Streamclip (it's free and cross-platform, only requiring that Quicktime be installed) and use that to make an MP4 with Apple's MPEG4 compressor (again, not H.264). That's far less stringent than the MainConcept encoder Adobe uses.

You'll have to test it on your display system for compatibility.
