I had to pull some renders out of archive and they were rendered with an old None 16 codec. Does anyone know if it still exist anywhere or know of a possible workaround.

Thanks,
Brett

None16 was an old Digital Anarchy codec. I don't know if it's still available, but you might try contacting them directly.

i know redgiant had purchased a bunch of digital anarchy's video stuff, including their microcosm codec (similar to none16, but with lossless compression like apple's animation codec). they had announced that they would release that for one free in 2009, but that hasn't happened.

here's a press release on that acquisition:

http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/news/featured/da-faq/

but there's no mention of none16.

if you do find it, it may not work with 64-bit versions of ae, so you may need to use a 32-bit compression utility to convert them to another codec... though i'm not sure about 64-bit.

it would be nice if whoever has control over that codec could at least off a read-only version to allow decoding of older footage.

i would be curious to what either digital anarchy or red giant had to say about none16 or there feelings about redistributing it.

if you find anything out please add it to your post.

Digital Anarchy sent me a link to the last version they touched.
I installed and it worked great. So far I have not run into any problems.
