I do not understand why, when I have one layer above the other the lower layer shows on top on my screen??

It would help to see the position property for the layers in question. That's the obvious potential problem.

I know it's off, but you also might want to move that layer above the camera layer; the camera should be the uppermost layer in the comp.

Hi there Dave,

I have copied the properties of the layers of concern also, I moved the layers in concern above the camera, no change.

If you are refering to layers 8 and 11. Layer 8 is at .7 Z, and 11 is at 0. In Z space as you progress in positive numbers the items will move away from you, negative numbers bring them closer.

Layer stack doesn't matter here, you have placed layer 8 behind layer 11, if you make layer 8's Z position 0. It should move in front of layer 11.

Yup, just what I thought: the z-position isn't constant between layers. Fix it and the problem goes away.

Unless you have some overpowering reason not to do so, why don't you use good ol' 2D layers? No camera or lights necessary.

Thanks guys,

I kinda thought it would be something logical and simplistic, funny thing is I did a quick on and off of the 3d in layer 8 and it worked also, but, I do understand the logic and have followed your direction.

Actually Dave I kinda need the lights as I am doing a traveling spot on the character.

John, I like your little bit of Edison logic even though I am more of a Tesla fan
