Import Premiere Pro sequence into After Effects problem
on Jan 3, 2012 at 2:25:58 pm

Hello!
I recently encountered an annoying problem on my usual workflow.

I used to edit in Premiere and do all the rest in After (color corr, compositing etc). and i found really useful this import project feature, that allows you to import one or more Premiere sequences in you AE project.
AE file > import > Adobe Premiere Pro Project

Once you do this the Premiere sequences are automatically transformed into AE compositions, so that you can easily enter those comps and find all your trimmed clips as you left them in Premiere.

Here's my problem:
Lately (only, this feature perfectly worked for years) when i import those sequences in AE and i open the resulting compositions i don't find all the clips where they used to be.
Some of them are oddly trimmed to their end showing only a portion that is less than a frame (invisible)
If i try to discover these clips with the selection tool, dragging their boundaries, there they are. They are visible but they lost ALL of the timing information they used to have in Premiere (timecode, position, slomo)

I don't really know what to do
Please somebody help :)

Thank you

I'm sorry if i bothered anyone
Creative Cow Forum already had the solution to my problem:

Premiere to AE import bug fixed:

http://forums.adobe.com/message/1767110

The Fix:
In Premiere, Edit-Prefs-General
be sure to UNcheck "Default Scale to Frame Size" before working.

Also if you have any work you've done with it checked, select everything on the sequence timeline (ctrl-A), right click and UNcheck "Scale to Frame Size"

Then it will go into AE properly.

What recently changed on your system? Did you start using a different kind of footage?
