Hello,

i want to animate a logo on a moving human body.

I tried so far:

Precomposed shape layer with logo constructed with shape tools.
I use Freeform Displacement Map for shaping the logo to the body.

For the logo following the body - i tried the puppet tool.
But i can only attach the puppet pins directly on the pen path. After some frames the shape gets very weird?

Second problem is, i dont know how to attach the puppet pins to the tracking points?

Is Mocha the best for this kind of tracking?

Or any ideas for a better workflow?

Thank you in advance!

You should be able to use the pick whip to tie the puppet pins to the tracking points. However, I'm not sure this is the exact right way to go.

How is this body moving? Where on the body do you want the logo to be? Is the logo supposed to be attached in one spot or is it moving?

I'd think displacing it and just motion tracking it in place might work, but that would really depend on the shot.

Is there a reason you have to do this in post and can't just add the logo on the talent with makeup and shoot the scene with the logo on them for real?

It depends a lot on the movement of the body. It sounds like a job that Mocha can handle. You can precomp your logo and inside that precomp you can apply a Mesh Warp. Once you are happy with the Mocha Track and you apply the data to the logo, you can open the main comp and the precomp with the Mesh Warp and adjust to match the body shape better.

Thank you. I´ll try the mesh warp. The puppet tool results in uncontrolable distorted shapes.
I don´t know if i can pin mesh warp grid crosses to tracking points? Perhaps with a third party mesh?

Next possibility would be to do it in 3d :O
