fake 3d tag cloud - orientation question
on Dec 21, 2011 at 10:34:43 am

Hi all

I have to re crate a tag cloud similar to this:

I thought I would have each word on its own layer, space them out and rotate them around a null in the middle.

How would I have them all keep their orientation to the camera? So they all continued to face the camera straight on as they rotate.

Any help is always appreciated.

This works best if you use a camera with a far zoom, say the 200MM preset, if you choose a wide angle camera(18MM) the camera ends up being too close and the text will be shifting on both the x and y axis to keep facing the camera..

Now just select all your text layers and (PC) press "cntl+alt+o" to open the orient dialogue and choose "Orient towards camera"

Also there are expressions that could be written to achieve this too, but this is probably the fastest way to accomplish this look.
