I was trying to shoot some GS footage recently. I was using some fairly light green material (I do not have "chroma green" paint or a chroma cloth) and I tried to light it as evenly as possible, but had no luck. Is the color of the green the problem or is this a case of OE (operator error)?

without seeing a shot or two it would be hard to say...

but here's a tip for low budget chroma green paint:

i looked at the link. Thanks for the suggestion. What about fabric (which is what I was trying to use)? Is there any real substitute for a chroma screen?

Yeah, I'm with Kevin; a picture would be worth more than 1,000 words in this case.

Depends how light a green. Really should be a very saturated mid tone making it easier to separate out from foreground. Having said that if you have Keylight it will give you the best shot at pulling a decent key.
