Simple and quick question. Is it possible to use comp lighting with Trapcode Particular? I need lighting on the particles, but don't want to press the 3D cube button on the layer because it will be very limited with a roving camera. If I put camera auto-orient on, it almost wants to work, but its very buggy and not accurate. I tried using a light emitter but still no fix :/
Any advice would be much appreciated!
If your instance of Particular has its emitter moving in X/Y space then you can link a Solid to this property. Place the Solid above the Particular layer and switch on the Solid's Preserve Underlying Transparency property. Then use the Solid as a Track Matte for the Particular layer. BUT switch on the Solid's Visibility switch (eyeball).
If Particular is moving in X,Y an Z space then you'll need the ole' toComp Expression method to link the Solid's position to Particular's emitter UNLESS you make your SOlid a 3D layer, then a simple pickwhip Expression should suffice.
