This should be really easy to do but I can't seem to get it right.
I'm trying to include a blur on a solid layer in a way that it also affects the ones below it.
I've attempted to do so by adding an adjustment layer and pre-composing them, and also playing with the blending modes - but once I move the new comp to other composition with footage the blur is missing. It happens even if the solid and adjustment layer have the same size.

The solid with blur will work as a bg for text, as on the example below:

Anyone has an ideia of how to achieve this? Its important that I can move the solid freely and redimension it, since it will be animated,

Thanks in advance

Animate a solid (any color) as you need it to be positioned, rotate... Then render out a matte (black and white image) for the solid only. Comp the background on top of itself, use the matte of the solid to cut a hole in the top layer and blur as you need the bottom.
This should give you the effect you're after.

One more idea- if you need to be able to tweak the animation of your solid, use the same idea only precomp the solid and use the precomp layer as a track matte to cut a hole in the top layer of the bk in order to reveal the blur underneath.

Note that a precomped adjustment layer will continue to act as an adjustment layer in the upstream comp ONLY if you have the Collapse Transformations switch enabled. This is actually a very fun technique that can be a bit tricky to manage....
