Can anyone point me to a tutorial or something of the sort on how to create old film like titles/credits in after effects?

Can you be more specific? I don't know of any specific tutorials, but I also don't quite understand what you mean by "old film" titles. Old as in 1970s, or as in 1910s? Can you post a sample of what you're trying to achieve?

Yo don't want old film -- you want an old video look. Do an online search for "AE old video look" and you should find lots of good resources, e.g.:
