My footage is squished on the external monitor, it's taller and I have black bars on the left & right sides.

The footage was shot on a hvx200 1080Pa24 and It looks fine in FCP.

I have updated MX02 to 2.2.3.0043 and the associated firmware upgrade
I am running 10.6.7 on a MBP 4GB
Fresh install of CS5.5 Production Premium

Any suggestions?

Regards

Eric

It's likely a footage interpretation issue between AE and the source aspect ratio (pixel and resolution aspect ratios). What are the specs of the 1080P coming from the camera?

@RoRK, It does look fine in the timeline viewer, just the external output of the MX02 is squished, dod you still think it's a ootage interpretation issue?
The footage is 1280 * 1080, 1.5PAR, DVCPRO 100 1080pa24

If it looks like 16x9 footage in AE, I'd say it's either a card setting or a card driver that doesn't know there's a new version of AE. Have you updated the driver or contacted customer support about it?

How does this footage look in your comp window? Do you have pixel aspect ratio compensation turned on or off?

And frankly, with only 4 gigs of memory, I'm sort of surprised you can get AE to work efficiently on your machine. It's a cinch you can't use multiprocessing. You need to trick that baby out with RAM.

@Dave, the footage looks correctly in the comp window & pixel aspect ratio compensation has no effect on the external image but does in the comp window.

This is now a known issue that Matrox support has duplicated and investigating.
