morphing simple vector shapes into more complex ones
on Sep 11, 2011 at 10:21:54 pm

Hi, I'm playing around trying to figure out a way to morph simple vector shape layers into more complex compound paths. Currently I am using a simple circle shape with a heavy stroke. It only has one circle path with like 4 anchor points.
I would like to morph it into more complex shapes. Is there a way to "outline stroke" on the circle shape and smoothly morph it into a compound path. Sort of like a "blend" in illustrator. I am starting with an after effects shape layer and an outlined circle from illustrator because the initial animation effects only work with the single path.
I'll probably just have to do a lot of manual tweening but am posting here for advice.
Thanks for reading.
