after effects rendering all black @ 14154 px wide

I am trying to render out a file that is 48 px high X 14154 px wide, to a quick time movie. It previews fine and seems to be rendering fine (with no errors), but shows up as a black quicktime movie. I can render out image sequences (jpegs and PNGs) fine as well (I can open them in photoshop and they look great, but when I use a .Workflow to stitch the images together in quicktime it comes back all black as well). I can render out the file at 1/2 resolution. Is this an after effects issue or a quicktime issue, and how can I get the file rendered at full resolution? thanks for the help!

Is your deliverable actually a Quicktime movie? I thought most fascia/ribbon display systems liked uncompressed AVIs or image sequences.

The deliverable is an AVI, but I have been rendering out quicktime movies and converting them. Is there a better way? thanks for the help.

Will your compression app work with your image sequences?

when I put together the image sequence in quicktime pro, the final movie is still black (even though I can open individual frames in photoshop and they are fine).

Do you have Compressor (included with Final Cut Studio) on your system? I just did a quick test encode from a 14154x48 PNG sequence to AVI (compressor set to None). I reimported the AVI file to AE and it worked beautifully.
