Hello everyone. This is my first post on the cow but Ive been learning here for a while now. Im working with footage shot in studio where the set falls out of the frame quite often. Ive been able to extend the set in after effects and the only thing keeping the extension from looking natural is that the shadow from my actor doesnt transfer to the extension. Ive included 2 screen shots to show what im talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's going to be tricky due to the double shadow phenomenon - where the artificial shadow that you create will look overly darker when it overlaps the original shadow.

If your talent doesn't crossover the original shadow area, I will create a clean plate of that area without shadows and call it a done deal. The other shadow, on the other side, should be sufficient for the scene.

Ahh that's another way to look at it. I was thinking of some sort of clone tool or something but I don't want to waste too much time either
