I'm working on a fairly simple project, where I have multiple layers with different blending modes, animated through keyframing the opacity.
When I saved my project yesterday, everything looked fine. Today I opened the project again, and all the layers have been messed up. It looks like all the blending modes and keyframes have been switched around between the layers.(the layer that had an Overlay blending mode, now has a Color Dodge, with the keyframes from a completely different layer etc).

The only reason I can think of why this has happened, is that I import the layers from a psd file. This morning I added a new layer in the psd file, but that shouldn't mess up all my work in AE, should it?

What can I do about this?

Yes, adding layers to a PSD file can mess things up. See this page in After Effects Help about working with PSD files.
