Hi I'm new here and I got a problem. I recently created an energy ball using AE. It's called Rasengan by the way. But when I composite it to a background it loses a lot of detail. You can barely see it.

Is there some effect or blending mode I should apply to get more detail? Thanks in advance!

Usually when I'm doing an effect which I want to look "hot", as if it's lit, or burning, I output the effect on a black solid background, and then composite it in AE using Additive mode. This mode adds the value of the bright pixels to those in back, making the back clip blow out toward white.

In addition to using additive blending modes you can use duplicates of the layer to increase pixel density.
