Selecting which Graphics Card AE uses (OSX)

I have my Mac 2 x 6 core setup for da vinci colour grading. So I have two graphics cards.

Slot 1 ATi Radeon HD 5770 Monitor attached
Slot 2 Nvidia Quadro 4000
Slot 3 Raid
Slot 4 SDI output

I use AE CS5 a lot, but it selects the ATI card.

I cant change the slot setup because of da vinci, but I feel I am missing out with it not using the quadro.

any ideas

Thanks

John

AE is not GPU- or CUDA-accelerated. It renders on the CPU. Avoid AE's OpenGL processing [link] for final renders.

AE will "see" whatever graphics card is attached to the monitor. There are a few third-party effects that are GPU-accelerated, but these will be just as fast (if not faster) on the ATI 5770 than on the Quadro 4000.

Walter's right. See this video for a breakdown of what After Effects does with OpenGL:

You'll see that you're not missing much.
