Hey I was wondering if there is a way to create a muffled audio effect I know this is possible in sony vegas but I am hoping to do the same thing with AE any help would be very supportive :)

After Effects is not designed for Audio work. The audio capabilities are meant for reference only. All your audio work should be done in apps like Premiere, Soundbooth... you can also try Audacy- free on PC.

As Tudor says, it's best to use Audition for something like this. Fortunately, After Effects is integrated with Audition.
