HI ,

Im not sure if anyone has posted a thread similar to this one, im quite new to this whole thing, i use illustrator quite allot and in one of my recent projects i have been using the clipping mask tool allot i was wondering in after effects is it possible to 1st use the rotoscope brush to remove a subject from footage and then take that subject and "clip" mask them onto a background so that now the background appears in the shape of the subject you cut out earlier with the roto brush ?

ie like how you would do in illustrator the only difference is now the silhouette moves since it was a cut out from a video footage

You can use any layer as a track matte.

It would be a LOT easier to accomplish this by shooting on a chroma key screen. Once you pull the key, simply add the Fill effect, change the default color to black, and you have a perfect silhouette.
