Considering the fast work flow, for Adobe After Effects CS4 (NOT CS5) which processor is going to be the best deal.?

i7-980X (Gulf-town)
Cpu Benchmark: 10,609

i7-2600K (Sandy Bridge)
Cpu Benchmark: 9,717

Cpu Benchmark:8,550

All benchmarks are from cpubenchmark (dot) net. I really don't whether it work in same manner for after effects also.

Having worked with i7 and Xeon workstations I would go with Xeon and loads of RAM.

Thanks for your sharing your thoughts, Ted

Yes i think Xeon 5600 series is absolute beast, have seen its reults @ Cinebench 11.5. But i7-2600K is just few steps behind & at dirt cheap price i'm unable to ignore it.

Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced its (i7-2600K) power with After Effects CS3/4.
