After Effects Footage Interpretation

I am using a camera that records in 1080i (60i) and I use after effects to interpret the footage and de-interlace it. AE analyzes the footage to be upper field and 29.97 FPS and then default renders it out in 29.97fps... Should I be adjusting it so that it is 60FPS?

if you want to keep the media 1080i (60i), then render from ae at 29.97 fps with fields enabled (upper).
if you want to make it 60p, then render at 59.94fps (no fields) and you may also want to check the interpret footage option for 'preserve edges'. it usually helps to smooth harder edges out when de-interlacing.
