Hi guys!

Im about to make a short animated film in after effects, a film with some realistic picture backgrounds and a couple of seconds with realistic video-filmed people.

My question is: in what resolution do I have to make my film, in order to being able to watch it at a (good) hd resolution on a big tv?

Any thoughts?

There are composition settings presets for HDTV.

The two HD resolutions are 1280x720, and 1920x1080.

Personally, I like 1280x720 at 59.94 frames/sec because it's so versatile. Your tastes may vary.

Since you're also shooting video, you should also know that VERY FEW video cameras shoot full 1280x720 or 1920x1080. They typically shoot 960x720 and 1440x1080. You'll probably want to become familiar with the concept of Pixel Aspect Ratio:
