hi guys

i want to put my renders project on PS3
so that i could check how my piece looks on a tv.
i know a short cut would be to get a mac to tv cable
but i'm interested in finding a solution.

i exported my project as a apple pro-res HQ so the file
has a .mov format. i'm not well informed when it comes to formatting.

thanks in advance for support

I know basically nothing about a PS3, but I believe that you can upload music and video to the hard drive just like to an ipod or other media device. I would encode the render to .mov with .h264 as the codec - most things should be able to interpret this. Then you upload the video just like anything else on the PS3 (not totally sure how to do this, but I'm sure it is simple).

Hope that was what you were asking.

I already have a second version compressed it to .h264 so thanks for the tip i will try it

many thanks

normally you would open the usb under the appropriate menu e.g video, music or photo.
then select usb and press display all and then icons are shown for each playable items. {*}
press copy to copy to PS3

at this stage {*} the problem arises my project file doesn't show as it's not recognised

The PS3 won't play .mov files. If your QuickTime is encoded in h.264 try just changing the extension from .mov .mp4, I can't remember if that works. If not you can use QuickTime to export the file as an .mp4 without having to re-encode it.
