Ah, I get you. Ok. This should help: I'm tasked with being in charge of a 3 camera shoot and while I have a P2, the other guys only have miniDV so I'm shooting in miniDV to best match their footage. I am however, shooting some B-Roll in HD so if there's something I can do at least in my camera to help the miniDV footage I shoot look better - meaning crisper, more HD-like, that would be awesome. I mean with all the settins available, there must be something I can do other than just setting the camera to 480i/30fps.

Well you could simply shoot HD and dub the final version to DV in the camera- that will look better than shooting directly to DV initially. Then you don't have to worry about the settings so much. Dubbing HD to DV in camera is described in your manual. As for matching other cameras specifically that would require matching things up on a good monitor.
