Hi, I'm using C4D and I have a scene, in it, a spotlight shines on a plane (and other objects). I need the plane to be 100% white (#ffffff) all the time except when something passes in front of it creating a shadow from the spotlight. Like if I set it as a matte object, but I need it to be in shadow if there is something in front of it.
There are other things in the scene so I can't just ramp up the spotlight, nor can I use something like self illumination for the material because then there won't be a shadow.
Does anyone know a way that I can get my material to bright white except when in shadow?
In the Compositing tag don't use Matte Object use Compositing Background which makes the object act self illuminated but still receive shadows. The plane (in your example) has to have a material on it which is where you set it to white.
