Im a bit of a newbie and I'm building a relatively simple model but I'm trying to really put some effort in to making it a well made 3D model.
I've got to a point with this particular part of my model and think it's done really great so far, but I feel like the lines that are highlighted below are surplus to requirements and I feel like I should be able to get rid of the majority them somehow but I can't figure out how.
Am i thinking about this too much, can this be made cleaner or would you say it was fine the way it is?
there's nothing wrong with it as is, it's what you need to do for that shape if you are putting it in SubD and you want that result. Looks like it's all quads, no tri's or ngons (not that they are always bad). That sort of result could be achieved by beveling with the Bevel tool or deformer excepting the roundness of the holes in the 'prongs' would be some work to duplicate.
