Lighting and reflection problem in Cinema 4D

Hello.!
i’m pretty new to Cinema 4D. I tried to re-create the scene (lighting and gold textures) below but I didn’t success so far. The best i can do is a scene with bad reflection and lighting. Does anyone know how to make scene like the first one ? it’ll help me very much. Thanks.

hi Brian Jones.
i'm not sure what renderer was used. I was so moved by the lighting technique and that refine gold texture, it looks so real. Do you have any idea about what they have done to make this scene ?

that image looks like a combo. The shadows under the pen look like GI is probably being used but the shadows of the gold cubes look like a standard C4D light with Shadow Maps with the Bias a bit too high since the shadows don't actually go to the corner of the cube (most noticeable on the front ones). So not an image with pure GI lighting. Was that done in C4D?

this image is quite old, i dont know what 3d software they was used. Anyway i found the answer. Thanks very much.

Quick tip:

Basic gold is most of the time a brown object with yellow reflection color.

The key to gold is not the gold shader but whats around to reflect in the that shader. Think about it like a photo Studio. An all black room with soft boxes here and there and especially, surrounding the camera lens. You can make simple disks or squares with graduations of white on them (in the luma channel) and the add a compositing tag to those reflectors and tell them to not show up in the camera or cast shadows or affect AO, but have them show up in the reflections and GI channels.
