COFFEE issue: Wheel Rotation

I've lurked Creative Cow for sometime and I actually have a question I have not been able to find an answer to.

I animate a lot of vehicles, motorcycles included. I found this handy file some time ago that was a huge help in animating vehicle wheels. It accurately rotates the wheels as vehicle moves in any direction and can be scaled at any size.

Now with R20 no longer supporting C.O.F.F.E.E. I'm in a real jam. I found some other tutorials that show essentially the same thing but they either don't scale, or they don't work in any direction.

I know xpresso to a certain extent but I don't know anything about python. Is there something within the xpresso that fixed or can be converted to python to make it function like it use to.

Thanks for your help

I haven't made the leap yet to R20, but what about the Coffee node in Expresso? Is it still there?

No, R20 no longer supports COFFEE. ☹

I looked but coffee's vnorm doesn't seem to translate to python's Vector.Normalize - I don't know enough to know what's wrong. I'd try CGTalk as well as there are more scripters there (or seem to be) and while it might be possible in xpresso I'll bet the coffee node is there because it's a lot easier that way.

Output1 = c4d.Vector.GetNormalized(Vec1) * c4d.Vector.GetNormalized(Vec2)

that doesn't work in a python node at all. It works in one direction if you do this

Vec1 = c4d.Vector(Input1)
Vec2 = c4d.Vector(Input2)
Output1 = c4d.Vector.GetNormalized(Vec1) * c4d.Vector.GetNormalized(Vec2)

but that is broken compared to the Coffee which rotates the wheel in both directions, the python does not.
