Polygon reduction - falloff ?
on Jun 15, 2018 at 12:40:06 pm

Hi there

I'm trying to make the polygon reduction generator WITH a falloff
I've tested with x-presso but I think I'm missing something.
I'd like to use a falloff to set where the polygon reduction affects or where it doesn't...

HERE IS THE TEST FILE:

Please HELP!

Thanks,
Marc

Have you seen this on C4DCafe?
https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/96686-falloff-control-a-bevel-defo... (down the thread a bit, 'deformer_falloff.c4d')
The thread there states this won't work on the bevel deformer and I suspect not on the reduction deformer either because of the way it works internally. Neither of those got a falloff built-in when those were added to the other deformers, I'd have to guess there is a good reason for that. (but just guessing)

Shouldn't geometry detail concentration be the determining factor for reducing polys and not where the polys are on the object?
