More xRef woes

I'm trying to add a model inside another scene, this is the way the model looks in the original file:



But this is how it looks when the xref is placed in the larger scene:



This happens when I check "Generator" on, I'd leave it off, but then I can't move the contents of the xRef to a different layer. Since my scene is very complex, I'm hiding everything I don't have to use until I'm ready to render.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

did you animate the character in the master file then turn on Generator?

Hey Brian,

No, nothing is animated. It's just an illustration. All other xRefs are behaving correctly, only this one is weird.
