Moving joints deforms areas when it doesn't in another program?

Whenever I move fingers and such, it deforms it and tries to strech fingers around it, however in another program it doesn't so I assume its a setting or issue with Cinema4D and was wondering if I can turn it off?

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

This is a rigged model that you're importing into Cinema? What's the format?

Format was XPS (XNALara) then imported into 3ds Max then expoted as fbx (imported into C4D as .fbx)

Hmm. Somewhere along the way it looks like the joint weighting got messed up. Hard to tell if it's the Max exporter or the C4D importer. CAn you try a different format, like Collada?
